Our Story
We met the old fashioned way...
At a bar in the East Village.
It was January of 2012 and New York City was a romantic 25 degrees with a dusting of grey slush.
It's important to note that Kristen's friend Daniela is single-handedly responsible for her presence in that bowery bar that night. In a classic friend move, Daniela insisted Kristen accompany her to one of NYU Law School's infamous "Bar Review" events and Kristen couldn't think of an excuse not to go. So in a twist of fate, they walked into the dark, crowded bar together on a Wednesday, and Daniela promptly abandoned Kristen for someone whose name neither can recall. Kristen, alone but drink in hand, decided to make the best of it before heading home.
"The best of it" turned out to be talking to a handsome guy named Les ("Or is it Wes? What kind of name is Les? I'll just ask him to put it into my Blackberry himself. Better yet, let's exchange Blackberry PINs in case he's a serial killer.")
Folks, they both had Blackberries and it was 2012. It would have been cruel of the universe to stick them on anyone but each other. And so Les played the Alaska card and Kristen thought he was a big old liar, you know the age old tale. It would be years before Kristen would roll over and declare to Les in her sleep,"You're just jealous because I'm stylish," but on that evening in the dead of winter the wheels of fate were set in motion.
Almost six years later we're excited to invite you all to celebrate with us! And we don't like very many people, so consider yourselves lucky. See you on the west coast!
